NMPRS Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
1. What is NMPRS?
The New Mexico PFAS Reporting System (NMPRS) is a secure web-based application that allows authorized users to access, manage, and submit information in compliance with the PFAS Protection Act and 20.13.2 NMAC.
2. Who is eligible to use NMPRS?
Access to NMPRS is limited to approved users, including manufacturers and New Mexico Environment Department (NMED) staff.
3. How do I register for an account?
To register for an NMPRS account:
- Navigate to the NMPRS registration page.
- Enter all required information.
- Select an existing organization or create a new one.
- Follow the on-screen instructions and any email prompts to complete registration.
- Check your spam or junk folder if you do not receive confirmation emails.

4. Why should I register for an account?
The NMPRS enables registered users to submit Currently Unavoidable Use (CUU) proposals and required reporting, and make requests for reporting extensions, reporting waivers, and label waivers. It also provides a mechanism for organizations to coordinate with one another — for example, to allow one organization to report on behalf of another organization.
5. How do I sign into my account?
To sign in:
- Navigate to the NMPRS login page.
- Enter your registered email address.
- Enter your password.
- Select Log In.
Upon successful login, you will be directed to your dashboard.
6. What should I do if I forgot my password?
If you forgot your password:
- Select the Forgot Password link on the login page.
- Enter your registered email address.
- Follow the instructions in the password reset email.
If you do not receive the email, check your spam folder or contact the NMPRS Application Administrator at: kyle.staggs@env.nm.gov.
7. What are the password requirements?
Passwords must meet the following criteria:
- Be at least eight (8) characters long

Include at least one of the following:
- Uppercase letter
- Number
- Special character (e.g., ! @ # $ % ^ & * ( ) _ +)
8. Is my information secure?
Yes. NMPRS uses industry-standard security measures, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), authentication controls, and secure session management to protect user data.
9. What should I do if my account is locked?
Accounts are locked after five (5) unsuccessful login attempts.
- Wait 20 minutes before attempting to log in again.
- If the issue persists, contact the NMPRS Application Administrator.
10. Can I access NMPRS from any device?
Yes. NMPRS is accessible from any internet-connected device, including desktops, laptops, tablets, and smartphones.

11. What if I experience technical issues?
If you experience technical difficulties while using NMPRS, contact the NMPRS Application at: kyle.staggs@env.nm.gov.
12. How do I log out securely?
To log out securely:
- Select the Log Out link located in the top-right corner of the screen.
Always log out when using a shared or public computer.
13. Who do I contact for help?

14. How do I manage organization associations?
To manage reporting associations with other organizations:
- Log in to NMPRS.
- Navigate to the Associations tab.
From there:

- Use the Companies That Report for You section and add a company.

- Use the Companies You Report For section.
